The statement released by Chippa United on Wednesday morning has left many South Africans mildly scandalized after the chairman of the club, Siviwe "Chippa" Mpengesi, announced in a statement that he and Chippa United uphold their goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and Nigeria over Bafana Bafana in the upcoming AFCON semi-final.
In the statement, Mpengesi publicly revealed that his team supports Nigeria and Nwabali over his own country's boys, Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana will face Nigeria on Wednesday evening at 19:00 in the 1st AFCON 2023 semi-final, later followed by the 2nd semi-final between DR Congo and Coti d'Ivoire at 22:00.
