Kaizer Chiefs has announced the reshuffling of its coaching structure two days after their 1 - 0 defeat by Amazulu in the Carling Black Lebel knockout on Saturday at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.

The Soweto giants confirmed in the statement released on Monday that the club has parted ways with the head coach, Molefi Ntseki, while his assistant coach, Arthur Zwane, has been removed from the first team duties and redeployed back into the academy.

The former Platinum Stars head coach, Cavin Johnson, who recently joined Amakhosi in September as the head of academy, will take over as interim head coach, and Dallion Sheppard, who has been with the club since 2020 and was the 2nd assistant to Ntseki, will hold the position of assistant coach under Johnson.

"Following a meeting on Monday morning, Molefi Ntseki’s tenure as Head Coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent. Given the recent run of disappointing results, the parties agreed that this was the best course of action under the prevailing circumstances.

Cavin Johnson, who recently joined Chiefs as Head of the Youth Development Academy, will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis. Current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard will retain his position under Johnson.

Assistant Coach, Arthur Zwane will return to his former role within the development structures of the Club.

Coach Ntseki arrived at Chiefs in June 2021 as Head of Technical and Youth Development. He took over as the senior team Head Coach in June 2023", said Kaizer Chiefs in the statement.

Ntseki took over from Zwane before the start of the 2023–24 season. Since then, the Soweto giants have played 13 games in all competitions and suffered defeats in six games, including being knocked out in the MTN8 semi-finals and in the Carling Black Lebel knockout.

Amakhosi's sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., expressed his gratitude towards the departing coach.

“I would like to thank Coach Ntseki for his contribution to the club since he arrived here, both at the development level and with the senior team. We wish him success in his future endeavours,” said Motaung Jr.
