The Dube Birds are reportedly to have signed seven new players ahead of the second leg of the Dstv Premiership season after the club dismissed more than 20 players in December last year.
According to SABC Sport senior journalist Mazola Molefe, Swallows have secured seven new signatures in preparation for the second round of the season as the season commences this weekend for the second and last stunt of the season after a 48-day break of the Africa Cup of Nations took place in Ivory Coast.
The new signings include two former Orland Pirates players, Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Augustine Mahlonoko, Letsie Koapeng, Basil Mphahlele, Jacob Everson, Lwanda Mbanjwa, and Roland Sanou.
All this comes months and weeks after the club dismissed over 20 players and later reinstated some of the dismissed players in January 2024.
It all started when the club failed to pay salaries to players in November and again before Christmas in December.
The players decided to strike and refused to honour the last two Dstv Premiership fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows, which led to the dismissal of over 20 players, including key players such as Daniel Akpeyi, Gabadinho Mhango, and Andile Jali.
The Dube Birds will commence their second leg of the season this Saturday at home against the Limpopo side, Polokwane City.
