The 2023\24 Dstv Premiership kicks off.

The 2023/24 Dstv Premiership began with Sekhukhune United welcoming the reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Masandawana walked away with their first three points of the season as they defeated Babina Noko away from home by 2–1..

Tshwane giants took lead at the 12' minute through Peter Shalulile scoring the penalty, the new signing Lucas Ribeiro doubled the lead to make it 2 for Mamelodi sundowns in 57' minute with a pass from the new signing, Thapelo Maseko signed from Supersport United. Babina Noko responded with a stunning goal from the free kick through Jamie Webber in the 61' in the second half.


The 2023/24 season began with the referee releasing two consecutive red cards: Vusi Mncube for Sekhukhune and Rivaldo Coetzee for Mamelodi Sundowns.
